Missional Communities

Missional Communities are the heart of Missio Dei Church.

What if church wasn't a place you go but who you are?

What if a few neighbors lived out faith with you in the everyday rhythms of life? You'd share meals, watch each others kids, party together, serve neighbors, restore what's broken in your community, talk about Jesus a lot and see people begin to follow him. It would be messy and it would be glorious. We believe that communities centered around mission are the heart of what God has called His Church to be and do.

Missional Communities are where we live this out. They are the heart of Missio Dei Church. God has not called us to advance the kingdom alone. He called us into community so that we can partner with others where God has placed us, lead others into the kingdom and make disciples who make disciples. Living in community leads us into the realization that we are on a mission field and that our friends, coworkers, neighbors, family members, and the city are in desperate need of a savior. If we are serious about reaching the city of Memphis with the gospel, we must live together in community that is sent on mission as we reach those around us.

They are the primary way we connect with others and live our lives on mission. These smaller groups of people (10-20) provide an opportunity to know others and be known within Missio Dei Family. Through these relationships, we mutually challenge and encourage one another to truly believe our Identity in Christ and live life in Rhythms that show the world who God truly is.

Each Missional Community has identified their unique mission within the larger church family and meets regularly to eat, learn, pray and be together on mission, living out the gospel in real and tangible expressions.

Whether you consider yourself part of the Missio Dei family or you're just checking out what it looks like to live for Jesus together it is our desire that everyone would be an active member in one of these communities that bring life, healing and growth as we live out the mission of Jesus.

Missional Community is at the heart of living out the mission and vision that God has given Missio Dei Church. We cannot do what God has called us to do alone. Jesus calls His people to live in community, living life together as we seek to share the gospel with our friends, neighbors, coworkers and city.We want to be a movement: we want to be rapidly growing, dynamic, multiplying disciples – just like the early church. To do this, every believer has to get involved in the mission
